Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Paneer Butter Masala:

  1. For the masala paste
  2. as required Whole spices
  3. 1 onion
  4. 1 tomato
  5. 8 cashewnuts
  6. 1/2 inch ginger
  7. 4-6 cloves garlic
  8. 1 tbsp oil
  9. For making gravy
  10. as required Prepared masala paste
  11. to taste Salt
  12. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  14. 1/2 tsp sugar
  15. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  16. 3/4 tsp curry powder
  17. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  18. as required Sprinkle Kasuri methi
  19. 1.5 tsp heaped stored malai
  20. (grinded smooth with little milk)
  21. 1 small block of butter
  22. 200 g sauteed Paneer
  23. 1.5 tbsp oil
  24. For paneer preparation
  25. 200 g pressed paneer (diced)
  26. to taste Salt
  27. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  28. 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  29. 1/2 tsp oil
  30. 1 tbsp oil for sauteing
  31. as required water to adjust consistency

Instructions to make to make Paneer Butter Masala

  1. Take a pan with oil. Heat it. Put whole spices. Next add and saute onion, ginger, garlic, tomato and cashewnuts. As it looses it's rawness. Switch the flame off and let it cool. As it cools down, grind it into a smooth paste. Strain the masala paste and keep aside.
  2. Next place a kadhai. Heat with oil. Add in the prepared masala paste. Put salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder and sugar.
  3. Let it cook for sometime. Next add curry powder. Let it cook in slow flame. Meanwhile take stored malai, add milk and grind smooth. (You can directly add market available fresh cream instead of homemade cream.) Next in a mixing bowl, take diced paneer, add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and oil. Mix and coat the paneer. Keep aside for resting for 10 minutes.
  4. Next heat a grill tawa with oil. Put the marinated paneer. As you get grill marks, take out. Now see the masala, must have been cooked. Add the prepared cream into it and mix.
  5. Continue cooking at slow flame till all flavours combine. Now add garam masala and Kasuri methi. Give a nice mix. It's time to add the sauteed paneer.
  6. Give a gentle mix. Add water as an when required. Put a block of butter.
  7. Mix all well. Switch the flame off. Cover and keep for sometime. Then give a gentle mix and serve hot.... with roti/ paratha/ naan/ rice/ fried rice
  8. Awesomely tasty!!
